Some of the above I visit regularly.  Others, not at all or once in a while.  In any case there are many fine sites that deserve your attention.  Differing view points allow each of us to refine our arguments for or against.

Politico.com is a left leaning site that offers news and opinion on everything.  That's not to say they're bad or wrong, just the side of the fence that they are on.

David Codrea is unrelenting advocate for the right to keep and bear arms.  He not only writes for his own blog, but also writes a daily column for "Examiner.com" and appears often on radio and television. 
When you visit his website at War on Guns you'll find that he is a voice of caution regarding rumors that are prevalent on the internet.  He cautions everyone to fact check every story that they read.

Mr. Codrea is also closely monitoring the investigation of the "Fast and Furious" debacle created by the BATFE.  Mr. Codrea and Mike VanderBoegh of  http://sipseystreetirregulars.blogspot.com/ were instrumental in bringing together the whistleblower at the BATFE and members of Congress.

This last weekend the Truckers Ride for the Constitution and the WW2 Vets were in D.C.  A couple of weeks ago the bikers were riding through D.C.
Mostly reactions to what has happened in the last few days.

Mr. Day has written a non-fiction book about our current economic crisis:  Return of the Great Depression.  He also wrote the Irrational Atheist.  His fiction books include several short stories and full length novels. 

Based on his website Vox Day is a devotee of the martial arts, plays soccer, and loves to point out the illogic of his many critics.

I've enjoyed reading his blog daily for a few years and recommend it for his incite, knowledge and humor.

AlterNet.org is a website that I rarely visit.  Usually it is a link to an article from someone else.  That does not mean that it should be left out in the cold.  And considering it's following I'd say that it gets pretty heated at times.

Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership has been active since 1999.  Created by Aaron Zelman this not for profit website has been a vocal part of the gun community. 

JPFO has created several documentaries such as:  No Guns for Jews, No Guns for Negros, You and the 2A, The Gang (about the BATFE) and others and has an extensive library of papers and books that can be downloaded or purchased.  Their extensive store of items provides excellent material for the gun advocate.  The Grandpa Jack series of "comic" book type shorts provide informative stories for children and adults about the dangers of gun control and the advantages of gun ownership.  JPFO created a program for celebrating the creating and passage of the Bill of Rights and offers suggestions on how to celebrate December 15, 1791, the day the BoR officially became part of our Consititution for the United States of America.

JPFO can be found on YouTube with numerous videos to help any gun advocate with learning as much as possible about our right possess and carry firearms.

Whether a member of the Jewish faith or not this website is a treasure trove of information.

Have you ever stopped by Sipsey Street Irregulars blog spot to read what Mike Vanderboegh  has to say?
Mr. Vanderboegh is a very outspoken former communist.  What?  Yep.  Today he writes about the collectivists that are trying to make our lives miserable. 
He once had an informant working for him behind the enemy lines (and probably still does), but he was outed not too long ago.  Ramsey Bear was able to make his escape. 
Mr. Vanderboegh, along with David Codrea (http://waronguns.blogspot.com/ and http://www.examiner.com/gun-rights-in-national/david-codrea as well as others) were the impetus behind congress investigating the death of Brian Terry and Fast and Furious, the gun running operation of the BATFE.
Mr. Vanderboegh is the alleged leader of the Three Percenters.  The Three Percenters name is based upon the idea that only about three percent of the colonists were active in the fight against the British during the War of Independence.  Today Mr. Vanderboegh believes that the same three percent of the American population would stand up against our government in any attempt to take away our liberties.  Out of a population of about 315 million that would be about nine and a half million armed Americans.  I hope he's right.
Mr. Vanderboegh is in the process of writing a novel called Absolved.  The title refers back to an action taken by our government to target the leaders of another country.  In his opinion this absolves anyone of doing the same to our own politicians in the event of an attempt to make war on the citizens of the U.S.
Mr. Vanderboegh links to and writes comments about many articles that he finds or that are sent to him.
I've read his blog for several years and find him informative and thought provoking.

Are there any blogs that are important to you.  Blogs that inform you.  That might be on the edge.  Maybe you love them or hate them, but you visit them often.
Would you like to see your favorite blogger recognized for his efforts?
I think that there are many bloggers in the blogosphere that should get recognized for their efforts. How about a blog that you visit?

Since I am a novice at this sort of thing your help would be appreciated. Here are a few questions that I've come up with so far.  Your thoughts and suggestions for any directions that I should proceed would be appreciated.

1)  Because of the huge number of blog sites I believe that the number of nominees would have to be limited.  I'm thinking maybe 100.

2)  The possibility of spamming probably means that I will need some means of controlling the nomination input process.  I'm thinking that the "capcha" process, or something like it, would help with that.

3)  I'm investigating any tax implications.  Do I need to get a "501 c 3" exemption or some other tax exempt status?  As always tax laws are confusing so I need to look closely.  If someone has experience with this, help, please.  Eventually I expect to require a lawyer and an accountant. 

4)  Since I want to offer a monetary reward I'll have to choose how I will receive funds and hold them until the time of the award.  PayPal, credit cards and checks and money orders come to mind.  Setting up a bank account of some type probably will be necessary.  An escrow account? 

5)  The costs of running the program will have to be covered.  Lawyers and accountants will not be free.  I don't yet know what if any costs would be incurred by using PayPal or online credit card payments.  I fully expect that there are other costs that will have to be covered.

6)  Is it possible proceed without a tax exempt organization?

At this point I don't know enough to formulate the all of the questions that must be answered.  I'll find out many things in my search, but, HELP :) please.

It's just the beginning.  I've set myself a goal of making the first award on July 1, 2014.  Plenty of work to do to make it happen.
